Executive Summary
In a surprise 2 AM meeting of the Board of Directors (“We’re mostly early risers in this group,” said Board Chair Bill Flores, “and the ones who aren’t are usually still up this time of night anyway, so it seemed to be best.” “and the traffic is way lighter this time of day” chimed in vice-chair Peggy Heeg), ERCOT discussed the popularity of cuss word related portions of the ERCOT.com website (DAM, RUC). This led in turn to a vigorous brainstorming session to rename as many portions as possible of the ERCOT market to attract more web traffic. “An informed public is a safer public!” stated ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas. Two highlights of the brainstorming session were: Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) -> Congestion Revenue Auction Products (CRAP) and Dispatchable Reliability Reserve Service (DRRS) -> Financial Assurance Reliability Targets (FART).
Jeff McDonald, Kristi Hobbs, Keith Collins, and Dan Woodfin attempted to give their standing reports after the lengthy brainstorming session, but were waved off by the chair (“Ugh, we’ll read your reports when we get home. Or not. I’m tired.”)

Notes
- ERCOT Web Traffic
- ERCOT (Aubrey Hale) gave a report on web traffic by page.
- Day-Ahead Market (DAM) related pages held seven of the top ten spots, with Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) pages rounding out the other three.
- ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas said that it was clear that mild cuss word and cussing related acronyms were doing the best job of “capturing eyeballs”.
- Technology and Security Committee chair John Swainson stated that clearly cussing was the way to go.
- The brainstorming session for new names optimized for cuss related Search Engine Optimization (SEO) came up with the following
- Day-Ahead Market (DAM) will stay as is
- Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) => Congestion Revenue Auction Products (CRAP)
- Dispatchable Reliability Reserve Service (DRRS) => Financial Assurance Reliability Targets (FART)
- Long Term Auction Sequences (LTAS) => Auction Super Sequences (ASS)
- Real-Time Market => ReAl-Time SCED (RATS)
- Responsive Reserve Service (RRS) => Synchronized Hoard Of Optimal Things (SHOOT)
- Aggregated Distributed Energy Resources (ADER) => Distributed Aggregations of Reserves and eNergy (DARN)
- ERCOT also considered converting the Reliability Unit Commitment process to a purely financial one, but in the end decided against that.
